Great Mobile Heat

We looked at several infrared heaters before deciding to go with the Bear. Every heater had desirable features and a variety of price points, but the Bear had mobility with attractiveness, and safe, powerful heat output.

Our home has that one area of the house that just doesn't ever feel warm enough. It's where we do a lot of work (everything from running a small business to getting school homework done). In addition, there are those times (when everyone but me is out at school or work) where we don't need the entire house heated. We have saved a lot of money moving this heater to anywhere in the house the only person at home is working.

Because this heater is adjustable to heat up to 1,000 square feet, or a much smaller space if desired, and can be operated by a very handy remote to adjust to the needs of the space, it was perfect. The fact that it is made with a furniture grade cabinet on casters, and it isn't capable of starting a fire or bur ning, I have not been afraid to run it around our children or pets.

The description says it has a quiet fan. It was very nice to find that the fan is really quiet. You don't hear it, it blends in with the furniture, and the only reason anyone knows it's there is because you are not uncomfortably cold anymore.

Stop working after a few uses

I bought this heater from another website in Jan. 2012 for a small spare bedroom. I used it only a few days in Jan. and Feb. since we had a warm weather last year (80 degree in March). This winter, I used this heater for a few times then it gave me error ERR1 and stop working. I filled out the return request on their website and they told me I have to ship it back to them for repair on my own expense by UPS and insure. When I complained that this will cost a lot for me to ship it, the customer service replied back and said they also have to pay to ship it back to me. It cost me $70 to ship the unit. I asked UPS why it so expensive, does it cost the same if a company issue a return label to me to ship it. The UPS guy said a company will get a lot cheaper rate since they ship a lot of items. When I got it back, the remote doesn't work anymore. I emailed a couple of times with no response. In the future if I need a space heater, I just go to a store and buy one. Th is unit provide heat as same as a smaller space heater that cost $50 in a store.

It is adequate for a good size room

Product performs well although not quite to the level promoted. It is adequate for a good size room and maintains a pleasant temperature within that room. I haven't received an electric bill so I am not sure what it's costing to run at this time. Satisfied considering the price that it was offered for on here.
