This is the new 2012 ES1500 from New Comfort. This heater is designed to save you money! Infrared Heaters have long been known as the most energy efficient electric heaters. In addition to that however it is the only heater with the energy saving thermostat and energy saver heating mode. Possibly making it the most energy efficient electric heater Made.

Has the Energy Star type digital thermostat. This allows you to either 1. Set your temperature and walk away or 2. Set what time of day you want it to heat at what temperature. For example if you worked and where not at home during the day you could set it so your home was cool (saving you money on your energy bill) but then an hour before you come home it heats your home toasty warm. This feature saves you money on your energy bills! This is a great feature for business owners, home owners, campers, people with drafty basements or trailers

The second feature that saves you money is the 3 heating modes. For those extra cold nights it has the HIGH power mode (1500 watts of heat created), for smaller spaces or cooler nights you can use the LOW mode which is half power (750 watts, a big energy savings). In tests the New Comfort ES1500 out heated normal 1500 watt electric space heaters in LOW mode and only used half the power. The third mode is Energy Saver mode which uses full power until the room temperature is reached then switches over to LOW power mode to maintain the room temperature (saving you money)

How the heater works in NW Wisconsin!

We purchased the New Comfort ES1500 heater to help supplement our propane heater in a very cold/drafty house. This is our first winter in this big old farm house in NW Wisconsin and even though we haven't experienced our normal cold temps, this house can get very cold.
We put the heater in the kitchen because it was always much colder in that room. We set the heater at 68 degrees during the day and 63 degrees at night. On the days we average 25+ degrees during the day, the heater manages to, at times, reach the 68 degrees..although it usually averages about 65 degrees. When we had our cold spell (below zero) the heater struggled to keep the kitchen at 60 degrees, usually only managing 56-58 degrees. Granted, our kitchen isn't blocked off from the living room or bathroom, but there are heat ducts in those areas also.
The great upside to owning this heater is the propane savings. We were going through $500 a month in heat costs, but with the heater our propan e consumption has decreased by at least 25%. It is cheaper to pay an increase in electric than shell out another $500.
So, with all that said, I would buy this product again. I don't believe it can heat 1000 feet, but it does help. If you live in a warmer climate, or have a better insulated house, it just might do everything it claims.

So warm in my RV now, even at 20 degrees outside

Safe, works great, keeps me warm on very hard cold nights an days.

Best for energy , even has a energy selection!

Safest ever for RV's , surface does not get hot, blower up higher for function of air flow!
Just do not cover up plug & wires and leave open area for air flow in rear.

Now you have a wonderful product, I just can't wait till you make it look like a fireplace! I wanted one but saw these spec's, always read Spec'! This solld me, Safety is my concern!

Totally happy with this unit

I have had this unit since Dec. 2012 and has been working great
And performs as promised. I have not had any programming issues with setting the digital thermostat and love the fact that it programs just like the house thermostat with the weekdays and weekend options along with the wake, leave, return, and sleep time frames. The tempature settings in our case had to be set lower than we would set the house thermostat because it was making the room too warm; the is only 300 sq feet but is a converted garage with no duct work. We bought a 2nd unit a few weeks later for added heat in the kids room. Both units since programming them have been a "set it and forget it". Another feature I like is there is a temporary override to the programmed settings, so when its extra cold weather outside you can adjust thd temperature without changing your programmed temperatue settings.
